Hehe okay. It wasn't as successful as expected, of course, it could've been better (: But I really thought it was a job well done for a band with such short time! We really are an instant band omg!
Anyway, it was a very stressful day. Not just for the band leaders but everyone, I believe. We couldn't seem to keep to schedule well and kept running over-time every time we had to play/practice- be it at esplanade or at school. It was insaaaaaaaane. Most of the kids didn't have lunch I believe, we had to move percussion, pack our instruments, pack our uniforms and get to the foyer in less than an hour. Glad to see that most of them had lots of initiative, even the sec ones! (': After we got on the bus, we realised we still had time to spare 'cause we reached earlier than expected! Yay! I had to assign all the sections to their dressing rooms after that, good thing it didn't take too long. Most of the dressing rooms weren't means for such a large number of people though, but it wasn't too bad! With all the running around and rehearsals, bonding time with my sec ones was short- very short. Got to bond with them over dinner though, personally I think the three of them are really adorable, just that they are a little difficult to teach. I do feel quite blessed to have them sometimes, I mean, they could've been worse <: HAHA. They seem so shy. Around 6 we had dinner as a section! /i had trouble finding the green room after walking around too much. lost. so embarrassing gosh/ Then JAMIE LEE'S HAIR-BRAIDING SERVICE BEGINS. Wow I tied for like 10 people that night HAHA. I like tying Yun Qu and Michelle's hair <: SO nice to tie. Dohee's ah. So bushy my gosh i just anyhow turn turn the tie already HAHAHA. Oh oh then I went out and saw yuting shyartini huiyi taylor etc etc! They gave me and grace a bar of chocolate each from 6 people! HAHA so cute (: oh and yuting got me and grace a balloon too!
THEN IT WAS LIMELIGHT. Damn we were so nervous at the stage door. The band gathered in a group and did breathing exercises together! HAHA everyone was so jittery and nervous but I bet they were all excited anyway! I know I was! I hugged a numerous number of people backstage. cherry hadassah nicole tang michelle kimberly grace rachel priscilla HAHA all such nervous things (: they were all great up there though! Rachel was so worried for her solo I thought she was going to cry before we went on! O: But she was wonderful in the end /sobs so proud/ Michelle's solo was so adorable too! And according to the seniors, she was really really really loud! :D We had a lot of fun out there, really gave it our all, we were dead tired but we still put in our 200% for that hour on stage.
And last but not least, we made Mrs Chua cry after the birthday song <: YAYYYYY ACHIEVEMENT OF THE NIGHT.
And that's it. It was over just like that. Time always passes so much faster on stage, I feel so upset now when I think about it and realise it's all over. Sigh. 5th event down, 4 more to go until batch 2013 steps down from CGSSB forever. /sighs even more/
The process was long, tiring and tough. We were nagged at, we were stressed, we were scolded, we felt like dying. But band was still the only thing we came to school for, even if the practice was practically every day.
I love the band kids so much. Really, I never thought I could love something/someone/many someone(s) so much! Haha. Their dedication towards this CCA really touches me (': It's one of the things that pulls me through the months, being one of the majors.
500 tickets, 9 pieces, 3 weeks, 1 surprise, and we did it.
So proud of everybody, really, you guys deserve all that you got from that performance! (': Good job CGSSB i love you all so very very much.
